Oregon State Senator Kayse Jama, who was born in Somalia and came to the U.S. as a refugee, is facing widespread calls for denaturalization and deportation after openly declaring war on ICE.
In a public statement, Jama said:
“This is Oregon. We do not need you. You’re not welcome. And you need to get the hell out of our community.”
The remarks, made after a fatal ICE-related incident, have sparked outrage among Americans who believe elected officials — especially naturalized citizens — should support federal law enforcement, not attack it.
Many are now demanding he be sent back to Somalia alongside Rep. Ilhan Omar.
This highlights deep tensions over immigration, loyalty, and who gets to hold power in America.
