53. Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.John 6:53. Jesus continues His teachings on the Bread of Life. Jesus says, "I am the bread of life." We must receive Jesus every minute of the day, because our spiritual life depends on it. Just as you eat food to sustain life in your body, your spirit needs to be fed. The religious leaders twist Jesus's words, saying that Jesus is talking about cannibalism. Here is what Jesus means: you can look at bread, but it will not satisfy your hunger. Knowing the ingredients in bread will not keep you alive.Telling others about bread does nothing for your body.Nothing about bread will benefit you except eating it. Nothing will satisfy our spirit except Jesus; we must bring Him into our life and depend on Him, as we do with food. There are things we must do for preparing food, and Jesus has things we must do if we would inherit eternal life. Jesus is the door to heaven; it's hell without Him. He is the straight and narrow path we must follow. The most important decision you will ever make is where you will spend eternity. But a word to the wise: If you don't care where you're going, any road will get you there. Amen.
