Anyone have any idea how this air well would work? Condensation maybe? Seems like a neat idea...

Yep condensation is exactly how it works. Warning air hits cooler air and makes water. Something is happening when you fill a glass of water up with ice and the warm air hits the cold glass of water and sweats water.

Yes it is condensation based. The cooler air gets pulled in and as it gets heated it rises. As it is forced out of the torturous path between the stones the moisture in it gets pulled out and as it builds it drips down into a basin.

Well, I have an issue with the plastic tubing being attached to the shaft of the electric motor.
