HE LIED!! Nope this asshat didn't balanced the book. He got help. Hochul game him $8b to cover some. Trat came from retired city employee fund by deferring retirees money.
" Moron-dummy ran is bragging about wiping out the city deficit but he's forgetting to tell people he did it after Kathy Hochul dished out $8 billion in state taxpayer dollars and by deferring pensions for retired city workers.
“When we came into office, we uncovered a $12 billion budget deficit. Today, I’m proud to say we brought it down to zero. We didn’t close the gap on the backs of working people.”
Governor Hochul bailed out the Socialist Mayor with billions in state taxpayer dollars from hard-working New Yorkers statewide, while Mamdani deferred pension payments for retired city workers instead of slashing one dime from illegal migrant spending that is still set to eat up $1.2 billion in the new city budget.
Hochul announced the latest $4 billion chunk of state aid, bringing the two-year total to almost $8 billion, and Mamdani rolled out his $124.7 billion FY 2027 executive budget claiming he wiped out the $12 billion deficit he inherited without raising taxes or gutting services.
Mamdani advanced plans to delay required city contributions to municipal pension funds.
This move saves about $1 billion short-term by pushing full funding deadlines past 2032 and into the 2040s.
It does not touch current retirees’ checks right away but sticks future taxpayers and workers with bigger bills later.
The city already shells out nearly $10 billion a year on pensions.
Instead of cutting illegal migrant costs, the budget keeps pouring money into "asylum seeker" services.
A total of nearly $2 billion has been set aside to fund migrants
Cumulative city spending on the migrant crisis has already topped $8 billion since 2023, with total costs exceeding $10 billion since Biden took office.
Mamdani even proposed an extra $1.2 billion for migrants earlier in 2026.
