Senator Mark Kelly can no longer call himself "Captain," nor will he receive another dime from his US Military pension.The ruling was handed down by a general court-martial in New Orleans with Kelly in absentia."Mr Kelly's refusal to take part in the proceeding was a major strike against him," said Judge Advocate General Joseph Barron, "This was an official proceeding. He should have been here in his dress uniform to defend himself."There is no appeals process for a court-martial other than the US Supreme Court, which has already said it won't hear the case.
