LUNAR LUNACY Cartoon published 05/10/2026 President Trump has ordered the Department of War to release the first tranche of UFO files—now called UAPs, or Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena. We are told some of the astronauts on the Apollo missions witnessed UAPs. Is that why the Apollo 11 astronauts seemed so guilty and gloomy during their press conference? Was it because they knew aliens were on the moon and they were not allowed to discuss it, or was it because they never went beyond low Earth orbit? There is another divide in America besides red vs. blue politics. It’s the battle between those who consider the moon landings to be faked, and the other side who staunchly defends the alleged accomplishments and label moon landing deniers as ‘crazy’ and ’stupid.’ The angry insults always fly and then, inevitably, flat Earth fanatics materialize on message boards to cloud the debate by means of silly statements such as how there is no space and how the Earth is not a globe—instead it is flat with a boundary called Antarctica that cannot be penetrated. Some theorize the CIA drummed up the flat Earth movement as means to drown out those who question the moon landings. The official moon landing story must be protected at all cost, and if one questions it, they immediately get accused of being flat Earthers. In 1967, the outspoken Gus Grissom hung a lemon on Apollo 1. Obviously he didn’t believe landing on the moon before the end of the decade was possible. Shortly after he did that, his module was flooded with 100 percent oxygen and a sparking device set it off. The fire killed all three astronauts including Grissom. His son theorized he was murdered by the CIA to silence further complaints. I could write a book listing the reasons why the landings could have been faked, but for brevity I will say that world-class photographers have thoroughly examined the photographic evidence from the moon and pronounced the photos were ‘fake.’ They said they were obviously shot with additional lighting. In one iconic photo, Buzz Aldrin is shown climbing out of the capsule that’s in full shade, but he’s brightly lit. If one looks closely at his rear boot heel, a thin band of vertical light can be seen on the curve. Where did that come from if the sun was on the opposite side? Why wasn’t there ghosting on the film? After all, the moon receives far more radiation than the Earth. Also, that film traveled to the moon and back in a craft without much shielding. Then there are the temperature extremes…intense heat in the sun and brutal cold in the shade. The film should have melted or become too brittle. I have used spotlights and I know how shadows work. The closer to the spotlight, the larger the shadow. Farther away, the shadow shortens. That’s exactly what happens in the Apollo 11 video showing the two astronauts walking toward and away from the planted flag. Their shadows change lengths. The sun keeps the shadows the same, consistent length. To be sure, some things have been debunked—an Australian woman claimed she saw a Coca-Cola bottle (often misremembered as a can) during the Apollo 11 moon landing broadcast. That turned out to be an urban legend, but many other facts are harder to dismiss. A 200-pound man would weigh approximately 33 pounds on the moon…more with the suit of course, but at 1/6th of Earth’s gravity an astronaut should be able to jump several feet off the ground. We never saw them do that—all we got was the silly bunny hop. Meanwhile, NASA-associated scientists are getting murdered or going missing in droves. One rumor tells us they knew about anti-gravity from aliens and now those aliens want that knowledge stopped. I hope the Artemis missions won’t involve any fakery. They certainly look real, but AI always raises suspicions. Alan Bean said they went straight through the Van Allen Belts, but Artemis astronauts claimed they went under the Van Allen Belts to avoid dangerous radiation. They saw the soil on the moon as brown, and I’ve heard that is its true color. They certainly utilized far more sophisticated equipment than the primitive Apollo craft. They just need to figure out a way to keep their toilet working. — Ben Garrison
