#OTD May 7, 1839: Elisha A. Hoffman, Presbyterian minister and one of the most prolific hymn writers of his time, was born. He composed over 2,000 hymns and edited more than 50 songbooks. His enduring legacy includes beloved favorites such as “What a Wonderful Savior,” “I Must Tell Jesus,” “Are You Washed in the Blood?” “Glory to His Name,” and “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms.”
