Thursdays thought: May 7, 2026…
Today is the national day of prayer.
We may not agree with a lot of things going on in our nation or even around the world.
However, let us stop today and spend time praying for our nation. The Bible tells us to pray for those authority.
We need to pray for our nation
We need to pray for our families
We need to pray for the lost
And we need to pray for revival to stir us.
Prayer still changes things in the parable of Luke 18, when the unjust judge would not avenge a woman of her enemy, the scripture says after, her continual coming to the judge he changed his mind.
Prayer can change the mind of God
Luke 18:1. And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
I remember the story when Jesus went to pray, and he came back and his disciples were asleep and he uttered the words “Could you not watch with me one hour?”
When Hannah had a closed womb and was unable to have children. God gave her a child after she prayed and refused to quit.
“‘For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him. Therefore, I also have lent him to the Lord; as long as he lives, he shall be lent to the Lord.’ So they worshiped the Lord there.”
