26. "And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory."Luke 21:27. In eight verses, Jesus speaks of real history and His return, solidifying our hope in Him. Jesus reveals the destruction of Jerusalem, which took place in 70 AD by the Romans. Jesus is telling anyone who sees this to leave, to escape the coming destruction. The destruction of Jerusalem is not just political; it's spiritual because the Jewish nation rejected Him. Jerusalem will be controlled by non-Jews until God says, "Enough." As the end draws near, the whole world will be shaken, confused, and overwhelmed. All shall see that what they trusted in has failed. Now the One the world rejected comes into the sight of all: Christ the Son. Jesus says, "When you see this, look up and welcome Him; your redemption, salvation, your eternal rescue, has arrived."Amen.
