Second Term Progress (2025–Present)As of April 2026, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Texas Facilities Commission have reported the following updates:Federal Construction: Approximately 25 miles of new "Smart Wall" have been completed since January 20, 2025.State of Texas Projects: Texas has independently completed roughly 82 miles of its own permanent barrier as of late 2025.Future Targets: CBP aims to complete a total of 250 miles of new barriers by September 30, 2026.
