3. Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespasses against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
Luke 17:3.
Jesus speaking to His disciples, teaching to practice real forgiveness, paying attention to our own heart, keeping attitudes in check, watching closely our own spirit, before looking how we are treated by others.
Jesus, says, if a brother trespasses, meaning, sins against you, a brother, meaning a believer, rebuke him, that does not mean scream and yelling, it means go to him lovingly, honestly, and tell him how he hurt you.
If he repents forgive him.
Here's the hard part, if he does it seven times a day, and seven times, turns to you and says, I repent, you must forgive him.
How many times have we sinned against God Almighty, and He has forgiven us, because of His Son Jesus.
As God has forgiven us, over and over, we must forgive also.
Jesus is teaching we do not get to say, "That's it I am done with you."
Jesus, plain and simple says, the same forgiveness we receive from God, is the model for the forgiveness we show to others.
The disciples say this impossible, increase our faith.
Jesus tell them, you do not need giant, just a little real faith, and God will accomplish the impossible. Amen.
