Rep. Anna Paulina Luna just said what millions of Americans are thinking… and she didn’t soften it.
The Florida congresswoman declared she is “sick of serving in Congress with immoral freaks who abuse their office and bring dishonor to the institution.” She was targeting two specific colleagues from both parties. Rep. Tony Gonzales, a Texas Republican, is under Ethics investigation after reports he repeatedly asked a staffer for explicit photos. Luna had already filed resolutions to censure him over allegations of an affair with a separate congressional staffer who later died by suicide (she set herself on fire).
On the other side, Democrat Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick of Florida was just found guilty on 25 of 27 ethics violations for mixing campaign and personal funds.
Luna isn’t protecting her party. She’s calling out corruption wherever it lives. And when the House had a chance to release all sexual harassment records involving its own members, they voted to bury it.
Congress didn’t earn its record-low approval ratings by accident. It earned them by protecting predators, hiding investigations, and punishing the people brave enough to demand transparency. Anna Paulina Luna just refused to stay quiet… and that kind of courage is exactly what this institution has been missing.
