23. He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.Luke 11:23. Jesus spoke six verses; these are His true words, with warnings and blessings. Our verse today, in simple terms, means there is no neutral or middle ground in following Jesus. If you are not actively supporting His mission, you are indirectly working against Him. Being with Jesus means living by His teachings and values. Gathering refers to bringing people closer to God through love and sharing your faith. Scattering means causing division or leading others away from Christ, even unknowingly. Simply removing sin is not enough; the heart needs to be filled with the Holy Ghost to remain secure. External appearances, without genuine faith and action, will not keep evil away. A woman from the crowd cries out, "Blessed is the woman who gave You life." Jesus responds by saying, "True blessings come from hearing God's word and living by it." The lesson, Jesus reminds us it's our choice; we are either in with Jesus or out. Spiritual change comes from the heart; being filled with the Holy Ghost, He protects against spiritual emptiness.Amen.
