👋 Bye-bye!Teacher "I resigned this year because I could no longer, in good conscience, work for a district that has such a warped perception of parental rights. Parents do not own their children. They do not get to decide what is best for them, especially when it comes to their mental health and safety. Public schools are required to follow Department of Education guidance and the research that shows that affirming a child's gender identity is the only way to keep them mentally safe. Deadnaming and misgendering a child is a form of neglect and emotional abuse, and I will not participate in that. Children are not extensions of their parents. They are independent human beings with their own rights, and schools must prioritize the child's well-being over parental discomfort or ignorance.I cannot in good faith continue to work in an environment that forces me to harm children by not affirming their identities."
