I. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Genesis 1:1 This first sentence of the Bible establishes all trust in God as the Eternal God, Creator, Provider, a Person who has, through His word, made Himself known to us. The Bible tells us how we can know God, but if you do not believe the first 10 words, the remaining 750 thousand words will be difficult to understand, much less believe. We come to the Bible believing, trusting, learning, and growing in the grace of Christ. If we do not have Christ, we have nothing that will last. For all things come and go; they live, they die. But Jesus Christ is the same today as He was yesterday, and He will be the same tomorrow. Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, Savior, Redeemer, the firm Foundation of our Faith, the Anchor of our eternal soul. God will speak to anyone who approaches His word as true. Those who seek God will find Him in Christ the Lord. Your time in God's word will never be a waste, as the more you read it, the more you will find Christ in its pages. Amen.
