Kentucky gave Ford $35+ million to train the 1,600 employees they just fired. As part of the Ford BlueOval battery plant incentive package, Kentucky provided a $10 million training grant. On top of that, taxpayers spent $25 million to build the dedicated Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) BlueOval SK Training Center—and Kentucky continues to cover its ongoing operating costs. That’s $35+ million in public money used to train workers Ford has now FIRED.Ford may call this a “layoff,” but indications are that the plant will be closed for 18 months. After that, the workers Kentucky already paid to train will have to reapply for their jobs according to Ford. That is not a layoff- that is firing 1,600 people. This entire BlueOval deal was a scam. The politicians who pushed it—Governor Beshear and legislative leadership—need to acknowledge that, or it will keep happening.Beshear wants to blame Trump, but betting billions on an industry that only survives through federal subsidies and government mandates forcing Americans to buy the product is always a bad bet.

Now is a good time to buy ford stock before it goes up in price. You probably never have a better chance as far as getting a great deal on the price.
