Don Meredith, known as "Dandy Don," was an American football player, sports commentator, and actor. He is best known for his nine seasons as a quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys and his work as a color analyst for ABC's Monday Night Football.

Career highlights
Early Dallas Cowboys years: Meredith was one of the first major franchise quarterbacks for the Cowboys, playing from 1960 to 1968. His leadership helped the team to its first winning seasons. He led the Cowboys to three straight postseason appearances, including consecutive NFL Championship games in 1966 and 1967.
Broadcasting career: Meredith joined the Monday Night Football broadcast team in 1970 and was known for his witty, folksy demeanor. He worked alongside Howard Cosell and Frank Gifford, and was famous for singing the Willie Nelson song "Turn out the lights, the party's over" at the end of blowout games.
Other appearances: Following his football career, Meredith also pursued an acting career, appearing in several television shows and movies, including a recurring role in Police Story.
