January 10, 1984 an unknown 82-year old beginning actress named Clara Peller starred in her first Wendy's hamburger commercial. Hollering "Where's the beef?" into the camera, this white-haired, crinkly-eyed grandmother soon became a Pop icon.
Peller made millions for Dave Thomas' hamburger chain and made herself a household name. Or at least a household face. She died just three years after debuting her now famous three-word tagline. When she passed, Peller was 85.

Why is the photo in black and white? The 1980's wasn't that long ago. Colored tvs had been around for quite awhile, lol
