Consider this:
That decrepit house on the side of the road.. with the roof caved in and vines crawling through the windows.. was once someone’s prized possession. Someone poured time, effort, and years of their life into it. Yet now, it’s abandoned and crumbling.
Every material thing we work for in this life will eventually end up the same way.
Instead of striving for what fades, work for what lasts for eternity.
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
