This week, we remember Operation Market Garden, which took place between 17th and 25th September 1944, one of the most daring but costly operations of WW2.
Among those who fought was Geoffrey Roberts, who took part in the Battle of Arnhem. Captured on 26th September, he was sent to a prisoner of war camp and forced to work in a coal mine until the end of the war.
Now aged 100, Geoffrey has been made an MBE for his tireless charity work and dedication to commemorating those who never returned.
We honour Geoffrey and all who served during Market Garden, especially those who never came home. 🌹
