The only piece of glass that survived the from the World Trade Center collapse on 9/11. A windowpane from the 82nd floor of the South Tower. The only one of over 40,000 known to have endured the attacks. This piece of glass, often referred to as the "Survivor Glass," is emblematic in its rarity and significance. While the Twin Towers comprised vast expanses of glass, with each tower having 600,000 square feet of glass facade, the extreme conditions of the towers' collapse—intense fires, explosions, and the subsequent fall of over 200 stories of structure—meant that very little glass remained intact. The survival of this glass shard was therefore not merely a matter of chance; it symbolizes extreme endurance amidst devastation.
