On one hand, ya, you could say that just because someone takes money it doesn't mean they are corrupt, this is true. But what I find to be the bigger issue is the general public assuming that any of these sitting politicians are actually deeply looking into the issues they question people about. The assumption is these people are informed by great sources, when in reality, when you watch them question people you can tell they have no idea what they are talking about nor the complexity of the issues at hand.What this reveals is the outdated nature of the system in which they operate... these politicians are effectively obsolete. They cannot possibly spend enough time to truly make sense of issues within a complex system while still doing their job and still running for the next popularity contest. What's the alternative? I'm not sure yet, but to sit here and think these people are capable of understanding issues to the degree of complexity it takes to truly understand them is a futile line of thinking.Are they corrupt? In some cases yes. Are they ignorant to the vast majority of issues they comment on? Yes, and it's not their fault, it's that they can't possibly know it all nor properly vet 'experts'. Many 'experts' are lost too at the moment.
