The AMC AMX was a two-seat GT-style muscle car produced by American Motors Corporation (AMC) between 1968 and 1970.
The AMX was based on the 1969 Javelin, with a shorter wheelbase and no rear seat.
The AMX was designed to appeal to a younger, performance-oriented market and competed directly with the Chevrolet Corvette.
It came standard with a 290 cu in (4.8 L) AMC V8 engine, while a 390 cu in (6.4 L) AMC V8 engine was available as an option.
While the AMX's rear quarter windows remained fixed, the Javelin was a true two-door hardtop.
