Kim Jong Un met with the families of North Korean soldiers killed in Russia’s Kursk region
He praised the “great feats” of the fallen and presented state awards to both troops and families. According to North Korean state media, the Korean People’s Army had “captured the world’s attention.”
On stage, a memorial stele was displayed with photos of 101 KPA fighters. The exact number of North Korean losses in the Kursk operation has not been officially disclosed.
