Marlene Engelhorn, born in 1992 in Vienna, is an Austrian-German heiress and activist known for her advocacy for wealth redistribution and inheritance tax reform. She is a descendant of Friedrich Engelhorn, founder of BASF, a German chemical company that was part of the IG Farben conglomerate, which produced Zyklon B during the Holocaust. Engelhorn inherited a fortune estimated at €25 million from her grandmother, Traudl Engelhorn-Vechiatto, whose wealth stemmed partly from the sale of Boehringer Mannheim to Roche in 1997.
