Coastal Wolf Meet one of the most incredible animals here in British Columbia - a coastal wolf. Living on the rugged outer coast here in BC, these wolves are slightly smaller and genetically distinct from their inland cousins. Close to 80% of their diet is derived from the ocean. They are truly magnificent. This particular wolf was well aware of our presence and decided to come closer to check out our photo blinds. I’ve encountered these animals in the open as well and they’ve never been threatening but merely curious. Now of course that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve the utmost respect.
