From an Afghan woman to Dear @jk_rowling , I am writing to you as an Afghan girl whose only crime is being born a woman in a land where womanhood is punished. Here, we are not allowed to speak loudly. Even our voices are considered threats. We are locked inside our homes, prisoners without crime. We have no right to education, no right to work, no right to choose our futures. Many of us are forced into early marriages. Many suffer from depression. Some have died by suicide not because they were weak, but because no one heard them. We are disappearing. I didn’t know much about you before or seen your picture, but we grew up with Harry Potter stories and movies and we know that very well. Recently I learned about you through @Yalbano12345 that you are the author of the Harry Potter stories, And I saw your picture with a big blue hat, and you look like a model and very beautiful. and more important , I learned that you stand with Afghan women during this dark times. Thank you for standing up with us. Your support means the world. But please, don’t stop. Be our voice. Share our truth. Remind the world that Afghan women still exist and are still fighting to be seen, to be heard and live with human rights. With love and hope, An Afghan woman
