July 19, 1944 | Polish prisoner Lucjan Motyka (No. 136678) escapes from #Auschwitz I. The escape was planned and prepared by the camp resistance movement. Motyka spent three days in the storage room of the SS kitchen before he left the area of the main Auschwitz camp.
