A segregated Summerville, South Carolina Schoolhouse C 1905.
That's a very imposing and nice schoolhouse for the the
time and place even for white children and the children
(and teacher) are very well dressed with shoes which is
again unusual for southern children either black or white
in the time period. Probably comfortable middle class I
would say.
