SCIENTISTS ARE SENDING CANNABIS TO SPACE TO MUTATE IT
Cannabis seeds are headed to orbit to soak up space radiation and see how they mutate.
Back on Earth, scientists will grow clones from those seeds, analyze changes in THC and CBD, and simulate Martian soil and gravity to see how space stress affects the plant’s chemistry and survival.
They’ll study everything from leaf size to stress response, hoping to create future-ready space crops.
Cannabis is a super versatile plant: strong fibers, fast growth, useful compounds like CBD - basically a Swiss Army knife for space colonists.
If we’re going to farm on Mars, cannabis might just be the pioneer crop.
