June 10, 1942 | Germans liquidate the village of Lidice on the fake charge of aiding the assassination of SS Reinhard Heydrich. 173 males over 15 are shot, while 184 women and 88 children are deported to Ravensbrück and Gneisenau camps respectively, where most die.
The village of Lidice is destroyed building by building with explosives and completely leveled until not a trace remains, with grain being planted over the flattened soil. The name was then removed from all German maps.
