Saudi Arabia has launched an innovative initiative to help lost travelers navigate the vast Nafud Desert. According to foreign media, the Telegraph reports, solar-powered "laser beacons", placed near major water sources, emit visible light signals to help individuals in difficulty, especially at night. Led by explorer Mohammad Fohaid Al-Sohaiman Al-Rammali, the project aims to prevent tragedies where lost travelers succumb to dehydration just meters from water. Initially featuring 11 beacons, the initiative has gained government support, with plans to expand to 100 more across the Hail and Jouf regions.
