May 30, 1943 | Josef Mengele, takes the position of a camp doctor in the so-called Gypsy family camp in #Auschwitz II-Birkenau. During selections, he sends thousands to their death. He will conduct criminal experiments on twins & dwarfs, killing many of them.
After the war Mengele avoided arrest by escaping to South America. In 1962, he filed an appeal before court in #Frankfurt against the University of Frankfurt for revoking his medical diploma. He lost the case but continued to avoid prosecution for his crimes in #Auschwitz.
