Skilled hands at work! 💪 Our Power Service Shops team uses a massive metal lathe to refurbish Cherokee Dam’s Unit 2 generator and turbine shafts - right here in-house. That means faster turnaround and big savings. The work on Unit 2 also includes upgrades and refurbishment of all major components as part of our Hydro Life Extension Program, helping to extend the life and performance of our hydro fleet for decades to come. The two shaft sections, which will be reinstalled this summer, connect to a large turbine that spins a generator, producing reliable, low-cost electricity for the region.⚡️🇺🇸 #HydroPower
