🕯️ The Watchers Beneath the Candlestick
—A Whispered Resume of Remy & Thistle
🕯️🐭📜✨
Beneath the brass where silence clings,
Two mice kept watch on ancient things.
One sought crumbs, the other—truth,
A scholar born with twitching youth.
Thistle, swift and wild of ear,
A scurrying spark, a scent of fear.
Remy, quiet—nose in page,
A gnawer of myths, both wise and cage.
They dwelt where candlewax had wept,
In scrolls where untold riddles slept.
And on the night the ink-pool stirred,
They stole a page not meant for words.
Now hunted by the Maw below,
They guard the tale none else can know.
A flicker, hush, a scrap of lore—
The mice who dared unlock the door.

📖 “The Whisper Beneath the Brass”🐭
A Tale from the Archive of Gnawnight
In the age of wax and whisper, when the last human footstep had long faded from the floorboards above, two mice met beneath the golden stem of an old candlestick.
One came slick with city soot, his whiskers sharp from counting coin crumbs and dodging broom bristles. This was Remy Quickwhisk, a Town Rat.
The other, soft-furred and dusk-scented, carried a walnut satchel of moss clippings and mushroom paper. This was Thistle Fernpaw, a Country Rat.
They didn’t trust each other. Not yet.
But the Archive had called them both.
For deep in the vault beneath the Library Forgotten, a map had been gnawed free from a forbidden codex—a parchment older than the cheese-moons and ink-blooded with truth.
A prophecy.
A journey.
A crumbtrail into the Hidden Chapter, where the First Scribe Mouse had once inscribed the Name of the World.
And now, the candle flickered again. Someone—or something—was watching.
“Do you hear that?” whispered Thistle.
Remy sniffed. “No. But I smell lies. And lavender.”
The shard of bread between them began to hum….., 🕯️🐭📜✨😊
