Lina Medina, the youngest confirmed mother in history, was born on September 23, 1933, in Ticrapo, Castrovirreyna Province, Peru. As of today, April 24, 2025, Medina would be 91 years old. She gained worldwide attention in 1939 when she gave birth at the age of 5 years, 7 months, and 21 days, a result of precocious puberty. Her son, Gerardo, was born via caesarean section and was raised as her brother until he was 10 years old. Gerardo died in 1979 at the age of 40 from bone marrow disease. Medina married Raúl Jurado in the early 1970s and had a second son in 1972. As of 2002, Medina and her husband were living in a poor neighborhood in Lima, and it is unclear if she is still alive today.
