Miami Vice, an American crime drama television series produced by Michael Mann for NBC, was created by Anthony Yerkovich. In the show, Don Johnson portrays James "Sonny" Crockett and Philip Michael Thomas portrays Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs, two Metro-Dade Police Department detectives operating undercover in Miami. The series ran on NBC for five seasons, from September 16, 1984, to June 28, 1989. In 1988, USA Network started showing repeats, and on January 25, 1990, it showed an episode that had never been seen before throughout the series' syndication run.
