The Louvre Museum (French: Musée du Louvre) is one of the largest and most popular art museums in the world. The museum is located in the center of Paris, on the right bank of the Seine, on Rue de Rivoli, in the 1st arrondissement of the capital. It was opened in 1793.
The museum building is the old royal palace (Palais du Louvre)
