🇺🇸 SOUTH CAROLINA EXECUTES BRAD SIGMON BY FIRING SQUAD—FIRST IN 15 YEARS
Brad Sigmon, 67, was executed by firing squad in South Carolina, marking the first U.S. execution by this method in 15 years.
Sigmon was convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend’s parents with a baseball bat in 2001.
He chose the firing squad over other methods due to concerns about suffering from lethal injection and electrocution.
The execution took place at the South Carolina Department of Corrections in Columbia after the U.S. Supreme Court denied his final appeal.
