In appreciation of Veterans everywhere, we bring you . . . Louis L'Amour, Veteran of WWII and THE GRUBMOBILE The motor pool people put the GRUBMOBILE together. It was an ex-German vehicle that they just remodeled - it was a trailer. They would pull it along with us and set it up when we stopped or took a break. Then they would cook in it and we'd go over there to get our meal. That was just like having food at home. According to a fellow soldier, "Well, he (Louis L'Amour) was kind of in charge. He decided that that would fit...he kind of put the deal together to get this thing built and then we used it for a kitchen trailer. We called it a grubmobile but we had portable stoves we put in it and we would use that." #veteransday #veterans #louislamour
