22 February 1939 | A French Jewish boy, Jacques Zajderman, was born in Paris. He arrived at Auschwitz on 31 August 1942 in a transport of 1,000 Jews deported from France. Together with 675 people he was murdered in a gas chamber. Jacques was a son of Szlama and Jenny. He had three siblings: Charlotte (b. 1936), Leo (b. 1931) and Hermann (b. 1930). They were all deported to Auschwitz - first the father, then the mother and finally the children. Only Szlama survived.
