Woman in Afghanistan were enjoying the freedom and right to vote because of monarchy and king Amanullah Khan. He ruled from 1919 to 1929 and was known for his progressive reforms aimed at modernizing Afghanistan. As part of his efforts, he granted women the right to vote in 1923, making Afghanistan one of the first Muslim-majority countries to do so. However, these reforms faced strong resistance from conservative factions, and after his abdication in 1929, many of his progressive policies, including women’s suffrage, were rolled back by fanatic Muslims.
