Amen to this one! After a short illness my dad died 3 months before he was to retire. Bill’s mom died 6 months after his dad retired. Both my mother and Bill’s father were alone for more than a quarter century. A friend of Bill’s died of a heart attack at 37 and a friend of mine died from cancer at 34. Don’t let it happen to you. Go NOW… any fool can work him/herself to death… don’t let that be you.As for us? We figured that God was talking and we were listening. Bill was 40 and I was 35 when we made the decision to sell everything, buy a boat and go cruising. We certainly don’t have as much money in retirement that we would have had if we’d continued to work for those 30+ years we cruised but, all things considered… it’s all good and we wouldn’t change a thing!
