"Mom, can I sleep at Grandma’s tonight?"
That simple question from my child this morning caught me off guard. As I turned to look at them, it sent me back in time.
In that moment, I wasn’t here—I was far in the past. When did time slip away and turn us into adults, weighed down by responsibilities and endless tasks? We fight daily for things we aren’t even sure we want. But maybe, just maybe, all we really need to be happy is Grandma’s house.
Grandma’s house, where time slows down, and the minutes seem to linger.
Grandma’s house, where a simple bowl of pasta or a slice of homemade bread feels like the best meal ever.
Grandma’s house, where an afternoon can stretch into hours of play, imagination, and laughter.
Grandma’s house, where old cupboards hide treasures like vintage clothes and mysterious tools, and closed boxes become chests of wonder.
Grandma’s house, where toys aren’t bought—they’re made with creativity and love.
Grandma’s house, where magic is real, and worries don’t exist.
Grandma’s house, where the memories of our parents mix with the start of our own lives.
Inside Grandma’s house lives our fondest memories, our safest moments, and a world where anything feels possible.
That gift is no longer mine—it lives only in my heart now. But if I could make one wish, just one, it would be:
“Can I sleep at Grandma’s tonight?”

Brother, I love this. I don't know where in life I would be if is wasn't for my Grandma.
