This is the Christmas tree in downtown Chimney Rock North Carolina, where the ornaments are comprised of found items from the flooded river bed and pieces of businesses lost to the hurricane; fragments of what was, now part of something new.
In their quiet beauty, they reflect both the weight of loss and the hope of rebuilding.
They call it the Beauty from Ashes Christmas Tree. The team cut down a tree from the mountains & decorated it with items they pulled from the river; items families lost from the Hurricane devastation and now found to fill the tree with life. They had a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony to dedicate the tree. This tree represents HOPE of a restored and rebuilt Chimney Rock! Hope Begins Here!
