On the mayflower’s voyage the main beam broke and the spare was was unable to stay in place
“A great iron screw from Holland” was used to secure the mast
The screw was from a printing press
William Brewster was a Pilgrim from Holland who printed books critical of the Church of England and King James.
King James sent for soldiers to seize Brewster but only found the printing press so they destroyed the type.
The press was then taken on the Mayflower and when the main mast was broken the large screw was used to secure the safety of the ship.
Had the press not been aboard the ship, the Mayflower may have never reached the new world and the mayflower compact would’ve never been written.
One can’t look at the story of the Pilgrims and not see the Providence of God.
