Bold colours 🎊 This painting was created in June 1888, when Van Gogh lived in Arles. He made it after a brief stay in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. He used vibrant colours with exaggerated contrasts: see the blue/orange, red/green, white/black combinations.
