It’s possible that the rumours about the Supreme Leader’s death are part of an Islamic Regime psyop.
By trying to convince the West that the Ayatollah is dead, and that the incoming Supreme Leader is a reformer, they will try to convince the West to not pursue “maximum pressure” measures against them.
This is what the Islamic Regime fears most - sanctions and complete economic isolation by Western countries.
