In Memoriam: Kera Teel, 19, murdered for her car by 3 black criminals. Kera was seven months pregnant when she was shot outside Sienna Apartment Homes around 1:50 a.m. on June 6th. Her daughter, Kyndal Teel (bottom left) died after her birth at a Beaumont hospital. Corey Spencer, Johnny Phifer, and Dustin Bernard attempted to carjack Kera as she arrived in her apartment's parking lot, when she resisted, they shot and kiIIed her. Corey Spencer wept as he addressed a state judge and Kera's Mom for the first time, he acknowledged that he pulled the trigger that night. “It wasn’t intentional,” Spencer, now 17, said Wednesday. “We were just breaking into people’s cars. … As I ran to the car, I was nervous. I ended up knocking on the window, forgetting what I was doing. I opened the car and I was shaking. She ended up reaching for me and it happened.” Mindy Morris took the stand and held a framed picture of her daughter, Kera Teel and her unborn child. “She was the most selfless person,” Morris said, addressing Spencer directly. “She wasn’t only my daughter, she was my best friend. That was my world that you let go of. You took my life away from me. …You took her from everybody. She would’ve gave you the shirt off her back.” Spencer was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 30 years. 2 of them are already out, Kera was kiIIed at the age of 19.
