Ireland has officially recognized Palestine as a state. 7 months ago, Hamas kidnapped an 8 year old Irish-Israeli girl and held her hostage for 50 days in harrowing conditions. Emily Hand was barely able to speak after her release as she was ordered to remain silent during captivity. She was abducted whilst sleeping over at her friends house in Kibbutz Be’eri along with her friend Hila, 13. She lost around 3.1kg during captivity and spent her 9th birthday in the tunnels of Gaza.
